We are mixed on making nicknames unique. The biggest reason against it is that it quickly becomes hard to find a name for new players. They can’t use their given name and often variants are also taken.
We do have the feature though, it would be up to the game developer to use it however. In this case, you will have to ignore them. We will keep this in mind for future multiplayer games, where it’s a bigger problem.
